A lifetime’s involvement within the thoroughbred industry, both racing and breeding, provided Darrell Ible with the specialised knowledge necessary to create and grow a leading bloodstock agency. In 2002 he founded DJI Bloodstock, and with its first purchase, the gelding Pure Gold, who cost only $600, went on to earn $50,000 during his career. This initial success was closely followed by the purchase of Squillani for $2,750, who placed twice in the Goodwood Handicap (G1), and earnt over $400,000 in prizemoney, and this success set the characteristic that marks this agency to this day: buying thoroughbreds that consistently provide returns far above the purchase price.
Since those early days, DJI Bloodstock has continued to get impressive results: the Group One winners Coniston Bluebird (New Zealand Derby), and Marju Snip (South Australian Oaks), and a host of stakeswinners, which can be viewed on our purchases page.
